Inspired by the ancestral Wixárika culture, TAU tequila is born, made by hand and verified as free of additives. Tau is a mix of culture, quality, elegance and class.

 

The Wixáritari have as gods the corn, the eagle, the deer and the peyote, all of them descendants of the Sun “TAU”, hence the name of our Tequila brand.

The Wixárika ancestral culture is recognized for its colorful clothing and images.

The Wixáritari has a presence in the states of Jalisco, Nayarit, Durango and San Luis Potosí. In each of these states they have a ceremonial or religious center. In Jalisco they are found on the Isla de los Alacranes in Lake Chapala, La Isla del Rey in San Blas, Nayarit in the desert of San Luis Potosí Cerro el Quemado and in Durango Cerro Gordo.

Architect Tomás Campuzano had always dreamed of having his own brand of excellent quality tequila. With the help of his brother Carlos, a chemical engineer, and the support of the Compañía Tequilera de Arandas, it was possible to produce a premium tequila made with the best standards.

Cultivation: The Gran Misterio Tequila Weber Agave is from the Los Altos Jalisco region and takes approximately 8 years to mature.

Cooking: The pineapple is cooked in a careful process to be transformed into simple sugars, which are separated from the pineapple through a pressurized water process.

Fermentation: The resulting sugars are fermented with the best quality Kosher yeasts, to be transformed into alcohol.

Distillation in copper wire: Once transformed into alcohol, a double distillation process is carried out. The first in a copper still that highlights the flavor of the agave and the “Ordinary” is obtained.

Distillation in steel stills: The second distillation is obtained Ordinary, here it is rectified in steel stills to stabilize its quality.

 The name “Dame Mas” means “give me more”.

 It is distilled twice and filtered twice for smoothness and flavor. 

 

 The agaves used are matured for at least eight years. The traditional process uses Mamposteria (bricks) ovens.
