Atoto Imports, takes it´s name from a magical place in México, where the warm waters of a spring come together. Since ancient times has been recognized for it´s healing properties.
It is said that in the year 1430, Tzintzintli a beautiful princess, daughter of a Purépecha emperor, had an uncertain disease, for which they found no cure, so a minister said that her health would be healed if they find a hot spring and bathed her in. The father promised that if his daughter is healed, he would establish a town, and that´s how the town was founded: Atotonilco.
Originally named in the Náhuatl language, Atl (water) – Totonilia (hot) – co (place) instead of hot wáter and has been considered a sanctuary where ceremonial baths take place.
The icon of the town is a figure of a pot on a stove that exhales the medical vapor.

Mezcal is known as a drink fallen from the sky, because lightning fell on a plant and thus the first tatema was produced. It is a ceremonial drink, which invites you to make an offering by tasting it, not so much for a toast. The meaning of the word mezcal, is precisely that: cooked maguey.

The Raicilla
Is distilled by hand, has obtained its designation of origin since June 2019 in the areas of the Sierra Madre Occidental, the Sierra de Amula, the South Coast and the North Coast. It is distilled with the same process as tequila, what changes is the agave variety.
